Mt. Taranaki |
Last weekend, we climbed Mt. Taranaki. It took us about 9 hours to get to the 2500m peak, though we could feel it in our legs for the next few days!
We were mostly immersed in clouds on the way up... so much for the view! |
The Froot Loops flower. |
On our way up the mountain, Satish stopped, claiming that he could smell Froot Loops. We tried to find the source of the smell and we discovered that this little white flower was it!
The loose rock and sand in this photo was definitely the hardest part, as you slide back a foot every few steps. Two steps forward, one step backward. Quite the scramble!
Maya and Rupa slowly falling behind... |
There was quite a bit of snow once we reached the summit! (Probably not near as much as there is back home...). Walking along the snow in the crater!
Above the clouds at 2500ft. Made it it to the summit!
Tish was an awesome hiker, never complaining and easily managing the climb. Surely one of the youngest to summit Mount Taranaki. Wow!
