Day 3-5: Vancouver to New Plymouth

14 hour flight to Auckland starts at 6:30pm on January 1st, crosses the date-line and arrives at 5:30am on the 3rd. On arrival, the flight attendant had us clap for a poor guy who skipped his birthday (January 2nd).
We survive our economy flight in fine form with the help of several movies and a bit of sleep.

The 4 hour wait at Auckland airport for our transfer to New Plymouth feels long. But that is quickly forgotten when we arrive!
