Festival of Lights in Pukekura Park

(All photos taken by Maya Patel, unless marked otherwise)
We stopped by, listened to some live Kiwi music, and observed the colourful lights.

The size of the park made for better exploration, but confusing when trying to find your way home...

We came across a sleeping giant, complete with snoring sounds!!

Black light made these mobiles (and our clothes) light up!

Explanation for Tish's constant movement: ice cream.

These jellyfish are quite beautiful, but good thing they weren't real ones!

Rowboats? More like glowboats...

Kiwi Qwirks

 Top 3 Kiwi challenges:

Each socket has a switch!

  1. Driving on the left.
  2. Understanding the letter 'e' in words like fresh, net, let, get - sounds like freesh, neet, leet, geet. "Would you like that toasted or freesh?"
  3. Remembering to apply sunscreen.

Switches: Down is on, up is off!
Off!

Milk: Standard, Lite, Extra Lite (no 2%)

Driving: Wrong side!

Cars last a while. (D'accord Dupond et Dupond?)

Wildlife: Birds rule! (no mammals until the europeans came)

Strange languages.

No mincing words.
